Inside JX2 Royal’s Server Protection

For more than two and a half months, we have blocked unwanted traffic and kept improving the game.

Protection since day one

JX2 Royal has faced unwanted traffic and repeated attempts to disrupt the game since our first day.

We kept this work quiet so you could focus on playing. Some incidents caused short interruptions. Because we handled them quietly, those interruptions could look like normal server problems.

Players are now talking about the recent incidents. We want you to know that we have been handling them since the beginning.

This was our first JX2 launch. After the difficult opening, we closed for a week to study the problem and prepare. We then offered a beta before reopening. Since then, we have protected the server again and again.

What our records show

These figures show just part of the pressure we have handled.

  1. More than 1 billion blocked packets in one protection record alone.
  2. 18 network incidents in one recent set of records. Fourteen happened within just five days. All 18 recorded incidents ended.
  3. Nearly 1.5 million hostile packets per second during one incident. That was almost eight times the rate of an earlier recorded incident. Traffic during the same incident also exceeded 15.4 gigabits per second.
  4. 50 IP addresses on our permanent block list.

We keep moving forward

Recent attempts to disrupt the game have been much larger. We have continued to protect players, release updates, and run the game through this period.

Those behind these attempts try new ways to cause problems. We study them and block them. A new attempt can take months to prepare and only days to block.

JX2 Royal continues to grow. We are improving the game and working on esports tournaments and a mobile version of JX2.

Our job is to protect players and keep the game running well. That work continues every day.
